Roger Benn

Roger Benn is an experienced executive and technology management professional with over 20 years of technology experience. Further, he has extensive experience directing revenue, technology, and operations in: Higher Education, Municipal, Non-Profit, and Healthcare organizations. Currently, Benn works as the director of provider solutions & health system performance at Excellus: Blue Cross Blue Shield. Prior to this, he served as the director of technical integration for Crouse Health Systems.  He is a former manager with the Enterprise Risk Management Team at The Bonadio Group, providing consulting and turnaround management services to various organizations. Previously, he served as the chief information officer for TLC Health Network, implementing new electronic medical records, implementing Meaningful Use Strategies, standardizing operational efficiencies, and led the technology transition in becoming an affiliate of the University Of Pittsburg Medical Center. Formerly, he was the Chief Technology Officer for Cazenovia College, ranked as one of “America’s Best College” by U.S. News & World Report, where he led the transformation of technology and supported the expansion of technology enhanced educational programs. Prior to that, he was the director of audio visual services for PSAV, formerly Swank Audio Visuals, where he served as a mentor to directors in the region and developed award winning marketing strategies.

His experience has provided him with the skills to lead the selection, implementation, and enhancement of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for several healthcare systems. He has led implementations of technology solutions that improved productivity/service, including: Health Information Exchange, Electronic Record Programs/Campus Management System, Electronic Medical Records, Health Care Information System, Network & Telephony Selection and Installation, and Customer Satisfaction & Service Enhancement Programs, while leveraging Six Sigma principles to meet highest quality standards.

He has held board leadership positions with: ARISE: Child and Family Services, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities: Board of Visitors, BriDGES: Madison County Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, New York State Board of Regents: Independent Living Council, The Trinity of Dedication Foundation, Madison County's Promise, The Alliance for Youth, Heritage Farm, Inc., New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, and the Madison County Mental Health & Community Services Board.

I like that there is a balance of end users, consultants, and vendors to present and facilitate the sessions. The interaction is candid and engaging, but not a sales pitch. Being a regional conference helps, it is the right amount of time and location for a couple days to reenergize my team and refocus on our objectives.
