Speaker: justin copie

Track: Lifecycle of IT Employees
Day: Thursday
Room: Cayuga
Time: 12:00 - 12:45

A compelling session that will challenge your thinking about what it means to be a leader in IT today. The days of fixing IT problems in a closet, hushing end-users woes, and wondering why you don’t have a seat at the table with your CEO, are over.

Do you feel like you’re under-valued or your organization simply doesn’t understand your value? If so, you must attend this session. Take this opportunity to look in the mirror and see what you can do different, starting today. Walking away, you’ll be armed with the following to make change happen immediately:

  • employee self-promotion in 2018 – there is no more predefined corporate ladder to climb
  • what vendors and consultants will become by 2020, and why you should care
  • a brand new philosophy on job descriptions and performance reviews
  • decide your value in the market and your pay structure
  • transparency is key in everything you do
  • metrics and KPI's that really matter to people and businesses
  • and much more...

We have come to NY Tech Summit for four years now and my team and I get a good variety of technical, business, and strategic sessions to complement our work objectives. I like that there is a balance of end users, consultants, and vendors to present and facilitate the sessions. The interaction is candid and engaging, but not a sales pitch. Being a regional conference helps, it is the right amount of time and location for a couple days to reenergize my team and refocus on our objectives. There seems to be quite a bit of peer discussion with a smaller conference, which I like.
