Your Team 2.0 why Emotional Intelligence beats Technical Intelligence

IT leaders have long hired based on skill to build their teams. Database skills, Networking skills, Development skills which are important tools to have however as IT continues to move to the front of the business, hiring on emotional intelligence is becoming more important. Emotional Intelligence is comprised of the ability to understand and manage ones emotions. This can lead to increases in success in all areas of life, from the core of relationships, to projects, to learning a new skill. In this session we'll navigate Emotional Intelligence and how to find people with it, how to grow it within people who do not have it and how to shift a culture of skilled teams to emotionally intelligent teams.

Aaron Fields has spent the past two years building the future strategy and vision of Episcopal Senior Life Communities to become a technology driven business in the long term care marketplace. Prior to ESLC Aaron worked in Healthcare consulting and managed services for TEKsystems. Before that he was a Network Engineer in the US Marine Corps. He lives in Rochester, NY with his wife and two children. Bringing passion for technology with the knowledge that it unlocks business potential versus slowing it down is what drives me. In no other industry has so much advancement in so little time been accomplished. What the next 20 years looks like is just as exciting as where we've come from in the same time frame.
